No one is above the Law. We have been hearing this ever since forever. Abiding by the law is our foremost duty as a citizen and violating them can lead us to falling into real trouble!
There are certain laws which are obvious to follow but there are some which are weird,unique, might sound funny but yes these are laws, and the people living in that particular place have to follow it irrespective of anything!
1.Cutting the Cactus is a Big NO!
In Arizona, it’s a crime to cut the Cactus, yes you read it right, the law breakers can be sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment. This is also a good thing as this law would stop people from cutting off trees.
2.Flush out before 10:00 P.M.
As the Clock strikes 10 at night, you are no more allowed to Flush Toilets in Switzerland, there it’s a quite strict law.
3.Ban on wearing Skirts!
In Italy, there is a ban on Skirts but only for men, men aren’t allowed to wear Skirts in public, which also includes not wearing Lungi. This is a serious thing in Italy and can even lead you getting arrested if you do that!
4.Cops biting Dogs
The Cops can bite the Dogs if they feel this would help the Dogs calm, this is a thing in Ohio and it’s a law allowing the Police Department to do so.
5.No driving without a Shirt on.
You can’t drive shirtless in Thailand. There is a law in Thailand which asks the people who are driving to wear a Shirt irrespective of weather or anything else, it’s compulsory to have a shirt on while you drive.
6.Insulting Gestures and Swearing
Using offensive gestures or swearing or using rude words is an offence in Kenya and UAE. It’s considered illegal to use such words or actions in public.
7.No more than 50 kgs of Potatoes
It might sound weird but it’s illegal to possess more than 50 kgs of Potatoes in the region of Western Australia at a particular time. Anything over 50 kgs is considered wrong/ crime and strict actions can be taken against the ones violating this law.
8.Specific Dress Code to be worn
In Sudan there is a dress code designed for women and they have to wear it along with covering their heads, it’s compulsory to wear that dress.
9.Belly Dancing a thing only for Women
Egypt doesn’t permit the men of the country to Belly Dance only Women are allowed to do so.
10.Legalized Prostitution
Holland has turned the Prostitution legal and also made the earnings taxable.
11.Say No to having a third child!
Not only in China but in the state of Kerala, India to control the population. You can only have third child if when you follow the two-child policy which allows couples to have third child by paying a fine of Rs.10,000/-
12.Value of Money
Turkey has come up with a unique yet effective way to save the money from being destroyed. Destroying currency is deciphered as disrespecting the national flag and the punishment is imprisoning the offender for 6 months to around three years.
13 France’s way of naming Pigs!
You must be wondering what’s wrong in naming the Pig the way one wants, but in France it’s a tough task. While you name your pet pig ensure that you don’t name it after the heads of the state.
14.Lodging and Prisoners
In Sudan the prisoners are given only lodging to stay in.
15.No knives to be involved while fighting
This is a rule followed by Indian Army, they aren’t allowed to fight with knives. They can only make use of knives while fighting with the troops of Nagaland.
16.Ban on Codeine
There is a Ban on Codeine in Japan. There is a ban on the use of Medicines which contain Codeine. If caught using such medicines they can be evicted from the country or face detention as punishment for the violations.
17.No Hat
In Madagascar pregnant women are not permitted to wear hats.
18.Time limit for Bingo
In the USA a Bingo game should not last more than 5 hours.
19.Singing in Sync
In North Carolina, singing in sync is important. Singing off key is considered an illegal thing. So when you are in North Carolina better don’t sing!
20.Moustache and Kissing don’t go hand in hand here
The men with grown moustaches can’t kiss women in Nevada and it’s illegal to go against this law, however insane it might sound!
21.Legal Polygamy
Few parts of Africa has a rule which makes it mandatory for men to have two wives.
22.Voting is Compulsory
Voting is made compulsory in Egypt which is also a great step because this would make people contribute towards the development of the country. The ones who do not vote are punished either by charging a heavy fine or an imprisonment.
23.Ashtray the Lethal Weapon
Carrying Ash tray in France while driving is considered illegal. In France they are popularly called as lethal weapons.
24.Seek Permission before capturing Rabbits
This law makes it illegal to capture Rabbits in between the months of January to April without permission. To Capture them between January and April one must seek permission in the USA State of Wyoming
25.Please DND!
In Australia, weddings and funerals should not be disturbed the one creating any sort of disturbance, will get the person banned from every social event along with a huge amount of fine $10,000 and even imprisonment for two years.
