Mystery is intriguing, and it’s all the more intriguing when a place is mysterious. Earth, a planet that amazes humans time and again has a lot to offer in terms of wonders. 

Here’s a list of mysterious places that will leave you in amazement. 

1.Blood Falls (Antarctica) 

Antarctica being the freezing place along with being the driest on planet earth, also holds a waterfall, a crimson-hued one which is also known as Blood Falls, isn’t it scary yet mind blowing? Though the Scientists have eventually discovered the reason behind this which happens to be that the grisly color is due to the salty, iron rich water coming out from the inside of the glacier which gets oxidised and rusted when comes in contact with the oxygen.

2.Coral Castle (Homestead, Florida)

It’s said that a man who got his heartbroken built this Coral Castle on his own in almost 25 years, until his death in the year 1951. He built the coral rock without any help of the equipment, he carved, moved and made these coral rocks of more than 1,100 tons. The thing that triggers people and leaves them in enigma is how he did all of it on his own, even without taking the help of tools?

3.Crooked Forest( Poland) 

As the name suggests, Crooked the trees of this forest is just like its name. It’s full with strange hundreds of Pine trees which were planted back in the 1930s. These trees are actually bent 90 degrees at their base which appears to be like fishing hooks. There are different beliefs with these trees, few people believe that there must be some technique or equipment used to give these trees this particular shape while others say that this perhaps is an outcome of winter snowstorm, leading to this unique shape of the pine trees. Whatever be the reason this unique shape of the trees and forest at large is eye-catching.

4.Devil’s Bridge (Kromlau, Germany)

This Devil’s Bridge of Germany is the most famous Devil’s Bridge, most famous because there are multiple bridges named Devil’s Bridge because of a superstitious belief associated with. This Parabolic bridge is from the 1860s and it’s structure is as amazing as anything could ever be. The bridge forms a perfect Circle with its reflection forming in the water present below making it a picturesque location. It’s undoubtedly one of the most outstanding bridges ever.

5.Door to Hell (Turkmenistan)

The name gives goosebumps to people reading or hearing for the first time. There is a solid reason behind this name of the place, almost 50 years ago there was a wide open hemispheric pit full of fire opened up in the desert of Turkmenistan. This Door to hell crater also known as Darvaza Crater continues to burn even today and at night the burning fire’s glow can be seen from miles away. The Door to Hell or Darvaza Crater, is believed to have been created by Russian natural gas drilling accident or mishappening which includes setting that place on fire by the Engineers in order to stop the spread of dangerous gases, not knowing how long the fire would burn.

6.Great Blue Hole (Belize)

Great Blue Hole justifies its name in terms of beauty and size. This place is magnificent in its own way. This huge, remote marine seahole off the coast of Belize is more than 1,000 ft across and deep to 400 ft. Scuba divers come here in number to experience the beauty of the coral reefs and the place.

7.Island of the Dolls (Mexico City, Mexico)

This Island of the Dolls, Isla de las Muñecas, Spanish name for this Island is situated  in the canals of the Xochimilco neighborhood of Mexico City. As the stories been heard by people states that the caretaker of this Island turned out to be haunted due to guilt of not being able to save the girl who drowned around more than 50 years before.This Caretaker hung the dolls with scary appearance like decapitated heads and empty eye sockets  around the islands and this is also the reason behind people claiming it to be a haunted Island.

8.Lake Abraham (Alberta, Canada)

In the months with no cold this Lake Abraham appears to be beautiful, azure coloured lake but on the contrast during the winters the water which gets frozen is filled with suspended white orbs which appear to be like Snowballs, these ice bubbles are dangerous pockets of methane gas which is flammable formed when the organic matter present at the bottom of the lake decomposes.

9.Lake Hillier (Australia)

This Lake has the most pretty and unique waters present in it. Located just next to the Pacific Ocean which also makes its appear amazing, it carries bubblegum pink waters, it has fishes in it but tourists aren’t allowed for swimming into the Lake. Though the reason behind the color of the water is still a mystery but majorly it’s believed that it’s caused by some algae, bacteria or other chemical reactions.

10.Lake Natron (Tanzania)

This Lake Natron is also called as Petrifying Lake because of its power or tendency to turn the birds into stones. The ambience is the reason behind this happening, the temperature goes upto 140 degrees Fahrenheit and the pH levels of the Lakes goes as high as to Ammonia’s which is 10.5. The water is extremely acidic which makes the skin and eyes of animals who aren’t adapted burn. The birds, bats and animals that die here get mummified due to the presence of high levels of Sodium Carbonate which also plays the role of preservative. This place serves as a good breeding place for a flock of flamingos.

11.Magnetic Hill (India)

Magnetic Hills also known as Gravity Hills are optical illusions of a road that appears to be sloping uphill due to the surrounding landscape which is actually sloping downhill which is why the cars and other vehicles appear to roll uphill in resistance. The local superstition associated with this says that this Magnetic Hills outside of Leh, India takes people to heaven which also draws the attention of a lot of tourists.
