India’s Glass Mosque
The Glass Mosque of Shillong, Meghalaya is famous for its beauty and uniqueness of Architecture. It continues to draw the attention of so many people, even tourists come to see this iconic beauty. This Madina Mosque is situated in Laban area of Shillong, this mosque is four-storeyed, 120 feet high and 61 feet wide which can give space to 2,000 worshippers showing its hugeness. This Mosque also has an orphanage in it named as “Meherba, a ‘Markaz’ or Theological institute that offers Islamic teachings and also has a library that has books in it on comparative religious studies.
India’s Only River Island
Majuli, Assam is the only river Island of India.This Island is in the Brahmaputra River Assam,in 2016 it became the first Island which got converted into an Island. Earlier, in the 20th century, it covered an area of 880 square kilometres, later on it lost some of its area to erosion and now is left with 352 square kilometres as by 2014. One can visit this place anytime except summers because the heat of summer is unbearable, humid weather makes it way uncomfortable for people especially the ones that come from low temperature areas. The way to reach this Island is only through ferries, one can board train till Guwahati from there reach the nearest town, Jorhat, then reach Majuli, by car or bus.
India’s Only Floating National Park
North-East India never fails to amazes, similarly the Keibul Lamjao National Park, which is located in the Bishnupur district of the state of Manipur in India. It’s known as the only floating National Park of India, its beauty attracts a lot of tourists every year.It is 40 Km square (15.4 sq mi) in area, it is also the only floating park in the world. Keibul Lamjao National Park happens to be an integral part of Loktak Lake. This National Park is a wetland ecosystem, which is famous for the patches and rings of biomass called phumdis.
India’s Only Overseas Military Base:
The only India’s Overseas Military Base is Farkhor Air Base which is present in Tajikistan. It is India’s only military base outside it’s territory.It is basically located near the town of Farkhor in Tajikistan, 130 kilometres (81 mi) southeast of the capital Dushanbe. This air base is operated by Air Indian Air Force in collaboration with the Tajik Air Force.
India’s Only Cattle Fair
There is a cattle fair which might sound weird to you but that’s the uniqueness of India, there is a cattle fair organised also popularly known as Sonepur Mela. This Mela is organised in the Sonepur District of Bihar State. This Festival is a complete package of culture, tradition, food and business. Sonepur which is located 25kms away from Patna, Capital of Bihar,the Fair is organised every year in the month of November at the watersmeet of the sacred rivers Ganga and Gandak.
India’s Only Coal Museum
It is in Margherita which is present in the state of Assam. The thing which attracts the attention of people is the real time models present in the museum which depicts the practise of coal mining, it also showcases the entire history of coal mining along with the other processes of coal mining. The Coal Museum also has models of transformers, haulages and circuit breakers incorporated into it, which is manufactured by the Crompton Parkinson and Manchester & Scheffield, England. It’s definitely a right place to visit for those who possess a deep enthusiasm for history and coal mining and wish to learn more about it.
India’s Only Symphonic Orchestra
Symphony Orchestra of India, Mumbai the one of a kind orchestra of India was founded in the year 2006 by the National Centre for the Performing Arts ( NCPA), Mumbai, Maharashtra. This Symphony Orchestra is a complete package of different Art, from works from the symphonic repertoire to opera, ballet and also chamber music performances.
This Orchestra takes India a level up in the Music field, it’s an international performer as it has delivered performances at renowned places which includes big names like; Hall of Columns, Moscow, and the Royal Opera House, Muscat which is an honor in itself.
India’s Only Active Volcano:
Barren Island, Andaman and Nicobar Island is considered as the India’s only active volcano,not only this, the Barren Island is an evident Active Volcano across South Asia.It lies about 138 km(86mi) in the northeast direction of the territory’s capital,Port Blair. The very first eruption was recorded in the year 1787 ever since then the eruption of the volcano has occurred almost more than ten times and the recent one was seen in the year 2017.
