If NO – then you are missing out a lot by not watching the most loved American sitcom which was telecast on channel NBC from 1994 to 2004 and despite being aired 16 years ago, has always been on the top of the best comic shows lists. FRIENDS has created a huge fan-base across the globe. It features a story of 6 young friends living in the New York City who are always there for one another. Friends has magical effects on its viewers, as they learn the slangs, dialogues and songs from the show and use them in their conversations. Friends is filled with humor and hilarity and can make your mood and life euphoric instantly.

If YES– We are going to show you how iconic scenes from one of the best sitcoms – FRIENDS TV show were nearly or exactly recreated by Bollywood movies and Indian web series. Bollywood has always taken inspiration from Hollywood, Korean and south Indian movies but here we will see how FRIENDS inspired film makers to do something as Friends did.

1. The one where they say goodbye – the phalange scene

The last episode of the last season of friends has the classic scene where Phoebe and Ross try to chase Rachel from taking off the flight. Phoebe fabricates a lie by telling Rachel that something is wrong with the left phalange of the plane. (But we all know – that’s not even a word! – related to planes).

Such exact scene was re-established in famous Salman Khan starrer “Maine Pyar kyun kiya?” where Salman Khan and Arshad Warsi catch Sushmita Sen to stop her from boarding the plane wherein Arshad Warsi comes up with a word “left Mag Wheel” to create the same chaos as Phoebe created by saying left phalange.

2. The one with Rachel’s Assistant – Phoebe flirts with Tag scene

We all loves the most quirky and crazy of all friends – Phoebe Buffay. The scene where Phoebe flirts with Rachel’s assistant by saying “you liked my name; you should hear my phone number” was imitated in the Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan starrer “Kal Ho Na Ho”. By the way Friends fans are not loving it.

3. The one with All the Resolutions – Ross’ leather pants ruining his date scene

Ross goes for a date putting on his leather pants as per his New year’s resolution but ends up ruining it because of his pants only. The scene where Ross struggles to put on his pants back as they stick to his legs and he calls up Joey to suggest solutions. Joey suggests him to apply cream and powder on his legs to help the pants glide up, eventually making the situation funnily worse.

There was a Bollywood movie “Heroes” which starred Sohail Khan and Vatsal Seth that had nicely replicated the above scene from friends.

4. The one where Ross and Rachel …You know – Joey introduces BarcaLoungers

There is an iconic scene where Joey introduces his newly bought couple of black recliner chairs to Chandler. They both jump into and relax on the chairs and do not move from them for days. This scene is also recreated in a Bollywood movie – “Salaam Namaste” wherein Saif Ali Khan and Arshad Warsi are shown to enjoy the recliners the same way Joey and Chandler did.

5. The one with the Routine – Joey splashes water scene

Joey splashes water on a guy in the washroom who disturbs his kissing plan to Janine in the New Year party. Such similar scene was shown in the movie “Jaan-e-mann” where Salman Khan splashes water at Aman Verma.

6. The one where Rachel has a baby – Rachel giving birth scene

The scene where Rachel goes through the delivery of her baby and in the process, she bangs her head against Ross’. An exact replica of the scene was evident in the Indian movie “Salaam Namaste” where Preity Zinta struggles while delivering the baby and bangs her head against Saif Ali Khan’s.

7. PUBG mobile web series – Dosti Ka Naya Maidan

Friends has inspired not only Bollywood movies but also web series. PUBG mobile India has its own web series which is available on YouTube. Its third episode depicts two friends Kaavya and Ritviza whose characters have been highly inspired by the famous best-friends Monica and Rachel. Ritviza is shown as a daughter of a wealthy man who moves out from her house and shifts with Kaavya, although she doesn’t really have any means of earnings. Here comes the Monica’s replica Kaavya, a great cook, who hires Ritviza to work with her. But this is not it, there was a scene or say plot in friends where Rachel’s Italian boyfriend makes a move on Phoebe at the massage parlour. This is also replicated in the web series where Kaavya’s boyfriend who also looks exactly like Rachel’s Italian guy makes move on Ritviza and then Kaavya dumps her as Rachel did in Friends.
