There has been a year-long wait to watch movies in theatres, now movies are finally back to the place where they have always belonged. Ever since the outbreak of the virus, the movies just got shifted to OTT platforms, providing people a facility to watch movies in their houses as the doors of the theatres were shut for an uncertain time period.
Now when things are in their recovery phase, Covid cases reducing, vaccination of people on going the risk of getting infected being less, the theatres association of India has finally made a move in opening the theatres and that’s perfect news for all of us because we have waited this long.
Nothing could ever beat the big screen experience and the ambiance of the theaters.
As the movies would be releasing now in theaters let us just check which all are lined up to be released this year!
1. Bunty and Babli Part 2
2005 hit Bunty and Babli is all set to roll this year, the release date has been finalized to April 23. The star cast of this movie includes; Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherjee along with the launch of newcomer Sharvari Wagh.
2. Shamshera
Ranbir Kapoor is back with Shamshera, set to release on the 27th of June, this movie comprises; Vani Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Ronit Roy and Iravati Harshe. Shamshera is an Indian Edition Of The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood which would take people back to the pre-independence era. It depicts the life of a dacoit tribe who fights against the Britishers for their rights.
3. Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar
Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra can be seen together again after Ishqzaade, their debut movie, after 9 years the duo is all set to give a treat to people who were longing to see them together. A black comedy scheduled to be released on the 19th of March. This Drama-Thriller showcases the lives of two different sections of society, on one hand where Arjun Kapoor plays the role of Haryanvi Police Officer, Parineeti Chopra portrays the role of a person working in the Corporate Sector.
4. Top Gun: Maverick
The much-awaited sequel of the Top Gun, a 1986 hit would bring Tom Cruise back in the role of US Naval aviator Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell. After few changes in the release date, this movie is aligned to be released in July this year.
5. Laal Singh Chaddha
Aamir Khan never disappoints his fans and supports and this is shown by his work. Laal Singh Chaddha which casts Aamir Khan opposite Kareena Kapoor is expected to be the masterpiece all over again as we would be seeing Aamir Khan on the big screen after a good long time. The movie is scheduled to be released around Christmas of this year.
6. The King’s Man
The third part of the King’s Man film series is rolling out this March. This period spy action-comedy is directed by Matthew Vaughn stars Ralph Fiennes and Gemma Arterton.
7. Bell-Bottom
As the name suggests this movie is set on the backdrop of the 1980s, starring Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor, this movie was the first to start its shoot amidst the Pandemic, to finish the shoot and be punctual to the release date the cast and crew of the movie flew down to Scotland. This is going to be released in April.
8. Prithviraj
The debut movie of Miss World 2017 Manushi Chillar along with Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Manav Vij, Ashutosh Rana, and Sonu Sood is a historical drama. Prithviraj depicts the life of the legend Prithviraj Chauhan. Due to Pandemic, the release date got shifted and now the new date of release is November 5, 2021.
9. Dune
Dune is based on the 1965 novel of the same name. This movie has a magnanimous cast of Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson, and Javier Bardem. The storyline is science-fiction, earlier set to release in November 2020 which couldn’t be possible due to Pandemic, this would now be released in theatres this October, besides that this would also be telecasted on the HBO Max Service for a month.
10. Dhamaka
With Dhamaka, the king of monologue, Kartik Aryan is all set to change his rom-com roles-image. The first poster in which Kartik is seen with an intense look on his face, with a bloodied shirt definitely intrigues his fans. Dhamaka a Ram Madhvani-directorial is expected to be released this year.
11. Radhe
To all the Salman Khan fans out there, Radhe is going to be an Eidi, this Eid. Radhe the character from Wanted which was released in 2009 gained huge popularity and Salman Khan again would be seen in the movie named Radhe opposite Disha Patani. Radhe is a Prabhudeva directorial and people can see Disha And Salman together after Bharat.
